Frequently Asked Questions When Purchasing A Glamping Pod

Here are some answers to the many questions first time buyers of MiPod may have...

Are Glamping Pods easy to install?

Our pods require a concrete base of which we will supply full instructions and drawings for preparation.  Arriving fully assembled the pod is wheeled into position and either removed from the wheels and lowered to ground level, or left with the wheels on and decked around. All that is then left to do is connect waste, water and electrical connections and it is ready for use.

How many people can a MiPod Glamping Pod accommodate?

It all depends on the size of pod(s) you are purchasing. For example our Royal Pod can accommodate a family of 4 comfortably, with our Exel, Premier and Midi more suited to 2 people.

Do Glamping Pods require planning permission?

We always recommend checking with your local authorities and discussing the project before proceeding – we are able to recommend an excellent planning consultant who works closely with us and will assist in all planning matters.

How is our Glamping Pod(s) delivered?

Our pods are delivered on a standard caravan transporter and rolled down a ramp on the wheels off the back of the lorry into position. Preferably we let the client arrange their own transport – however we can recommend some excellent haulage firms if required.

Can the Glamping Pods be relocated after being sited?

Yes! They are not permanent structures and because they are on wheels it makes them easily transportable (wheels removed during siting can be reattached).

Can you act as main contractor?

Yes – we can carry out all the necessary works in getting your site ready!

Could we use our existing contractors for site work?

Yes. We can provide detailed instructions for site preparation.

What about electrical connection?

All of our pods are fitted with an electrical consumer unit and are pre-tested, the standard connection is usually via a 16amp female commando socket but this can be up to 32amp on the larger models on internal fixtures i.e. Electric hob/electric shower. We can also convert the units to run on gas if required.

Do the pods have a warranty?

Yes. We provide a one year guarantee on everything covering workmanship or defective materials. In addition individual items such as shower units or other installed items carry their own individual guarantees and warranty.

Do I need to maintain my pod(s)?

The pods require very little maintenance! The roof tiles have a 40 year manufacturer guarantee – the only external maintenance we recommend is a recoat of the timber gables on each end. These are treated with a three coat Omnia system prior to leaving our factory, we suggest a recoat after 4 years for optimal protection and details are provided with handover.
